| October 16, 2006 was the first day of the rest of my life. I was a competitive gymnast growing up & was either at gym practice or at meets on the weekends. I think when I quit gymnastics when I was a freshman in high school that I finally had the free time I had been longing for my entire childhood. I finally did not have to focus on what I was eating, missing out on the slumber parties & school dances and I just stopped worrying about exercising. I went from being extremely fit & in shape to extremely fat, depressed & in the worst shape of my life. Of course it didn't happen over night, but looking back I feel like it happened pretty quickly. It got so out of hand that it was too hard to do anything but continue on that path. I did every diet known to man yet no permanant results. After medical conditions that caused my health to go so downhill I started to ask questions about WLS. A friend of mine had WLS over 2 years ago & is doing so well that I decided to look into it.
On October 16, 2006 I had Gastric Bypass. It was the best decision of my life! Now I feel like a wife & mom my husband & daughter can be proud of! I still have a long way to go, but I am pretty proud too! |
